Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with users to prepare requirements and analyses for enhancements to existing systems or the development of new systems. Develops functional scope and design documentation for enhancements to existing OT systems. (all band levels)
  • The 1H will recommend and the 2L will design enhancements and projects. Assist with configuration specifications based on system design. (1H/2L)
  • Under the direction of the System Specialist, configure and support solution deployment. Performs testing and troubleshoots problems found in testing, project development, production application or with the OT environment. (all band levels)
  • Provide recommendations for improving OT design and implementation of process changes or changes in the business or technology environment. Follows up on recommendations, develops tangible implementation proposals and detailed plans. (2L)
  • Partner with team to establish priorities and plans to keep all project tasks on schedule. (all band levels)
  • Configure and maintain virtual infrastructure and operating systems. (all band levels)
  • Configure and maintain networking systems. (all band levels)
  • Coordinate the requesting of firewall modifications as needed. (2L)
  • Works with team to develop appropriate plans and processes for the coordinated sharing of data, based on the requirements of departments, systems, and users. (all band levels)
  • Administer the backup and recovery of environments. (all band levels)
  • Maintain documentation plans for disaster recovery and business continuity plans. (2L)
  • Is regarded as a technical expert of all elements of the OT systems. (2L)
  • Develop informal and formal testing for system performance trials specifically for the OT functionality. Develop testing plans for upgrading platform equipment and systems. (2L)
  • Physical installation, testing and maintenance of LAN and communications cabling and infrastructure and lightweight construction and installation of cable racking equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of LAN and communications equipment problems using industry standard tools and checklists as guides.
  • Documents problems and resolutions.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or equivalent 1H And 2 years of work experience with Information Technology Or
  • Associate's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or equivalent 1H And 4 years of work experience with Information Technology Or
  • High School Diploma/GED High School Diploma/GED Technical Certification in IT technologies 1H And 5 years of work experience with Information Technology Or
  • Master's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems,or equivalent 2L And 2 years of work experience with Information Technology Or
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems,or equivalent 2L And 3 years of work experience with Information Technology System administration in an enterprise environment Or
  • Associate's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems,or equivalent 2L And 5 years of work experience with Information Technology System administration in an enterprise environment Or
  • High School Diploma/GED High School Diploma/GED Technical Certification in IT technologies 2L And 8 years of work experience with Information Technology System administration in an enterprise environment

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Engineering
  • Associate's Degree preferably in IT

Required Work Experience

  • Experience programming or scripting to automate repetitive tasks (all band levels) Required
  • Experience maintaining server configurations or maintaining server application operations is required. (2L) Required

  • Experience with cyber security best practices (all band levels) Preferred
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms. (all band levels) Preferred
  • Familiarity with Linux (all band levels) Preferred
  • Experience NERC CIP or working in similar regulated environments (all band levels) Preferred
  • Experience working on a critical real-time compute environment (all band levels) Preferred
  • Familiarity with utility system design and construction is preferred. (all band levels) Preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of electric utility distribution is required. (2L) Preferred
  • Experience with Electric Utility SCADA is preferred. (2L) Pref

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must push, pull, lift up to 40 pounds
