Core Responsibilities

  • The E-Mobility Advisory Services Specialist is responsible for completing preliminary site assessments for potential electric vehicle charging locations. Responsible for:
  • Completing initial site assessments for electric fleet owners, site hosts, or operators to inform them of potential utility-side infrastructure requirements and timelines
  • Researching and answering technical questions about grid impact and grid upgrades needed for EV charger projects
  • Collaborating with Energy Services and Engineering teams on processes, procedures, customer education, and project-specific issues
  • Supporting cross-functional business communications and collaboration between multiple Con Edison organizations

  • The Electric Mobility (E-Mobility) Advisory Services Specialist will be responsible for completing high-level initial engineering site assessments for electric fleet owners, site hosts, and operators to inform them of potential utility-side infrastructure requirements and timelines
  • Researching and answering technical questions about grid impact and grid upgrades needed for EV charger projects
  • Provide exceptional customer experience by delivering Advisory Services site assessment results in a timely manner and communicating clear guidance to customers on calls and in writing
  • Collaborating with Energy Services and Engineering teams on processes, procedures, customer education, and project-specific issues
  • Provide clear communication to developers on electric vehicle interconnection requirements and processes
  • Supporting cross-functional business communications and collaboration between multiple Con Edison organizations
  • Track status of Advisory Services site assessments
  • Organize and maintain all Advisory Services site assessment project documentation and results
  • Identify needs to optimize and improve Advisory Services process efficiencies and support implementation of any related changes
  • Act as subject matter expert for the E-Mobility team on technical interconnection topics related to EV charging stations
  • Develop related communications or recommendations associated with program, market or technology changes
  • Role may include serving as subject matter expert for the team on EVSE station site constraints, real estate/leasing business practices, and other market conditions to identify how fleets and other customers can best streamline and optimize the site selection and development of EV charging stations in Con Edison territory
  • Work effectively and participate on cross-functional teams responsible for new department initiatives that may arise from time to time
  • Represent the Company's interests to internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience with utility distribution system engineering

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years of work experience
  • Master's Degree in engineering or sustainability disciplines and 3 years utility or other business work experience project management, engineering experience.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Required
  • Technical understanding of Con Edison's electric distribution system. Required
  • Experience with or knowledge of utility new business interconnection processes and operations. Required
  • Understanding of Electric Operations specifications and procedures, engineering layouts, feeder prints, M&S and C&DO plates. Preferred
  • Knowledge of Electric Operations, which includes equipment, cable and splicing. associated with underground and/ or overhead installation and associated construction standards. Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station interconnection procedures. Preferred
  • 1-2 years project management experience at a utility in electric operations or engineering. Preferred
  • Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders in customer-facing or regulatory environments. Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station operations and economics. Preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
