Core Responsibilities

  • The Specialist for Business Ethics & Compliance (BEC) will provide support across BEC to include Ethics & Compliance Program Management and Investigations, Compliance Management, and Privacy Compliance. This includes supporting training and communication efforts, reviewing submitted certificates of disclosures for potential conflicts, managing the department budget, and additional requests as needed. The Specialist will also serve as the BEC training coordinator and liaise with the Executive Compliance Council on behalf of the Vice President of BEC. The Specialist will also prepare and submit internal sensitive reports, communications, and activities that support the Vice President of BEC and the Ethics and Compliance teams.
  • Create and sustain a workplace environment that fosters leadership, professionalism, honesty, courtesy, concern, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Review submitted certificates of disclosures, assess for potential conflicts, and approve disclosures where no conflicts exist.
  • Collaborate in the development and facilitation of ethics training and presentations, applying knowledge of ethics and compliance and the company.
  • Participate in responding to Ethics Helpline contacts and updating case management system as needed.
  • Work with BEC vendors.
  • Manage the BEC budget process to include the creation and approval of budget and the evaluation and approval process of request for funds.
  • Prepare and submit regular sensitive internal reports on activities and highlights on a periodic basis such as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer board report and Executive Compliance Council.
  • Liaison for the Vice President of BEC with the Executive Compliance Council.
  • Responsible for managing new hire ethics training program requirements for all company employees.
  • Monitor completion of certificate of disclosures including initial review and routing of disclosures to appropriate ethics and compliance staff.
  • Serve as Training Coordinator for employees of BEC.
  • Maintain the BEC records to comply with record retention policies.
  • Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Identify and coordinate other projects and assignments as required to the advance the goals of BEC program.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED And 5 years work experience
  • Associate's Degree And 4 years work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Project management, Communications, Business analytics, or related field with 2 years experience

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years work experience to include: Required
  • Experience with using SharePoint, and MS teams Required
  • Experience using Oracle or similar system to process payments and vendor requisitions Required
  • Experience managing budgets Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. Required
  • Experience or knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS) Preferred
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM) Preferred
  • Certification in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC, CCEP) Pref

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
